BREEDLOVE GUITARS ON TOUR
In an effort to take its guitars directly to the people and connect with traditional retailers, Breedlove Guitars has taken to the road with two deluxe motor coaches equipped with traveling show rooms displaying 30–40 guitars. One coach will cover the West Coast, the South during the winter, and the North and Canada during the summer, while the second coach will visit retailers on the East Coast. “Online sales are growing, but we believe that knowledgeable bricks-and-mortar dealers are still the foundation of the guitar culture,” says Breedlove President Peter Newport.

Breedlove has also launched its own festival, appropriately named the Breedlove Festival, which will be held in Bend, Oregon, July 31–Aug. 2, 2009, and will feature Grammy and Country Music Hall of Fame award-winning musical guests; guitar, mandolin, and songwriting competitions; guitar-care clinics; and master class workshops.

VANCOUVER ISLAND GUITAR SHOW
The Islands Luthiers’ Guild will be presenting its second Guitars by Hand show, an exhibition of stringed instruments made by instrument makers from Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands, and regional coastal communities. The show, which is free to the public, will be held at the Victoria Conference Centre in Victoria, British Columbia, on August 9, 2009.
